Heather's Story

Heather’s House is about my journey as an ordinary woman who loves Jesus, navigating life through many difficult seasons–seasons of disappointment, desperation, pain, brokenness, and grief. Through that brokenness I have experienced healing, hope, and redemption. I started the ministry of Heather’s House because I know many of you are battling similar life issues and some have even lost hope. Some of you have lost hope of ever being free, being healed, being known, being understood, or being loved. It is my desire, through the story of my daughter, Heather, that you will begin to believe that the hope and healing you have been longing for is possible.

Heather was a treasure and she was also a broken woman. Heather loved Jesus but she struggled for many years believing the lies of the enemy. Some of those lies she believed caused shame, guilt, depression, rejection and the list goes on. Heather chose drugs to try to heal her pain and sadly she fell into the relentless trap of addiction. She struggled with addiction for many years. In 2020, Jesus encountered Heather at The Well (a residential program for hurting women that her father and I opened) and God truly lavished His love on her. Heather wanted to be free–she really did. She wanted other women to know the love, mercy, and grace of her heavenly Father. She fought hard to be free. Her heart was to be free and help other women know how loved they really are. Sadly, Heather did not conquer the battle of addiction on this side of heaven. Heather relapsed and died on February 12, 2021. Jesus rescued my sweet daughter, and her chains are forever gone. She is truly free.

It was Heather’s heart to be free, and help other women as well. I believe as I share her story with you and as you walk into Heather’s House, that Jesus will meet you right where you are and that you will experience the lavished love of your Heavenly Father. Heather's story is one of redemption, unconditional love, mercy, and grace. It is our prayer that through Heather’s story, the lives of many women will be forever changed. Her story is the inspiration for the ministry of Heather’s House.
